    As our new Accountant, you will be based in Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Dubai, UAE, and be part of the Accounting team within the Finance department.

    The position comes with great opportunity to learn and execute a wide variety of accounting assignments as well as gain a deep insight into the trading business. Further, we are in the process of designing new processes around our new ERP system. This gives you the chance to be involved in the final stage on user level and quickly develop a unique understanding of our system and processes.

    Key responsibilities

    To avoid dependence on specific individuals within the Accounting team, we share responsibilities. This means you will be exposed to a variety of assignments and the key tasks are:

    • Accounting of Sales and Purchase entries in the system
    • Monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements
    • Prepare journal entries
    • Prepare analysis of accounts as and when requested
    • Assist with month-end and year-end closings
    • Robust knowledge of the mechanics and accounting of receivables including Letters of Credit
    • Monitor and resolve bank issues including fee anomalies and check differences
    • Maintain, track and reconcile intra-group financial flows
    • Bank account reconciliation and cash flow statement preparation for management
    • Review and process expense reports
    • Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process
    • Co-ordination with our other subsidiaries in respect of accounting
    • Knowledge in Taxation in UAE and across the world
    • Knowledge in preparation of VAT Return in UAE
    • Good knowledge in Financial Control
    • Super-user of Tally/ERP system

    Finally, you will be a role model in your position for other employees and will be cooperating closely with your colleagues in the department as well as with stakeholders across the global organization and group functions such as Group Finance Department.

    Who we are looking for

    You hold a Master’s Degree or equivalent MsC within Finance, Accounting, Auditing or another relevant field.

    You possess solid knowledge of accounting including fixed assets, inventory, intercompany transactions and hands-on experience with month-end closing procedures. You have strong analytical and monitoring skills and enjoy both working with numbers and thrive handling a workload that varies in content and scope.

    As a person, you possess the drive and discipline which enables you to work independently and keep focused in a sometimes hectic environment. You have a high sense of urgency and the ability to prioritise at the right level. With your systematic approach and eye for details, you keep things structured, yet you are able to adapt to changing environments with ease.

    Key responsibilities

    Along with your colleagues, you will be responsible for the accounting, controlling and statutory reporting for our entire trading business. This responsibility requires you to:

    • Prepare presentations for business partners (banks and trading partners), investigating and explaining the business activities that underpin the numbers to management.
    • Deliver our monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities, ensuring all controls have been implemented and the figures are accurate.
    • Work closely with the managers responsible for trading operations to ensure they understand their financial performance.
    • Guide, supervise and support our accounting teams globally, who perform most of our transactional accounting activities.
    • Conducting financial consolidation and controlling of Wilben.
    • Optimising reporting process and deliverables related to financial reporting.
    • Preparing consolidated financial analysis and provide input to other financial presentations to management, stakeholders in Wilben.
    • Providing proactive support and guidance to the global finance organisation for reporting and IFRS related matters.
    • Developing reporting instructions, guidance, templates, etc.
    • Coordination with external auditors.
    • Planning and conducting controlling visits to regions/countries, if the case may be.
    • Performing training and organising controller workshops for the global finance organisation.

    Finally, you will be a role model in your position for other employees and will be cooperating closely with your colleagues in the department as well as with stakeholders across the global organization and group functions such as the Finance Department.

    Who we are looking for

    You hold a Master’s Degree or equivalent MsC within Finance, Accounting, Auditing or another relevant field.

    You have solid knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS), practice, processes and controls. You have excellent capabilities in accounting systems (ERP implementation in progress) and other accounting and software tools.

    You have good communication and coordinating skills and work well under pressure and with tight deadlines. You are able to adapt to a fast changing environment and think outside of the box. You possess excellent analytical and reporting skills, and are capable of combining an eye for detail with a holistic overview.

    Finally, as you will be cooperating with colleagues from around the world, it is essential that you are fluent in both written and verbal English. Another language is an advantage.

    This high visibility position comes with the opportunity to gain deep insight into the trading business as well as develop your overall business acumen. You will have to extensively use your technical, communication and negotiation skills together with strong business development capabilities in order to grow volumes and drive profitability.

    Key responsibilities
    Bank Relationships and Distribution is core to the company’s business model as it manages the global banking relationships the company has in place and continue to strengthen. The key aspects of the function of Manager within the BRD team are as follows:

    • Quickly develop a robust understanding of Wilben’s product offering and capabilities.
    • Manage Wilben’s global relationships by liaising on a daily basis with Financial Institutions sitting in the EMEAA Region (Europe, Middle East, Africa & Asia) to distribute trade assets and receivables.
    • Negotiate the best terms and conditions with banks.
    • Coordinate with our international offices and Operations Teams to ensure the smooth execution of deals that have been closed.
    • Negotiate new facilities that will be required (i.e. facility for the issuance of Letter of Credits, Back to Back facilities, Trade Loans, Overdrafts.).
    • Quickly develop a robust understanding of Wilben’s Trade Credit Agreements and liaise with the company’s Legal counsel to review any legal changes that may be required.
    • Grow the portfolio of banking relationships by targeting specific banks which fit the company’s strategy.
    • Attend conferences to enhance the understanding of the dynamics of Trade and Distribution, conduct market intelligence as well as actively network to grow the company’s F.I. portfolio.
    • Assist colleagues by identifying cross-sell opportunities and originate new business by leveraging our banking relationships. The manager will be given the autonomy to conduct the business development task.

    Who we are looking for

    • Academic:
      • You hold at least a BSC within the fields of Finance, Banking, Business.
    • Technical:
      • You possess solid knowledge and experience of trade and banking instruments and facilities (i.e: Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees, Promissory Notes, Bills of Exchange, Documentary Collection, SBLCs, Overdrafts, Back to Back facilities, Credit risk insurance).
      • You are familiar with ICC publications: UCP, ISP.

     

    • Skills:
      • As you will be handling sensitive global relationships and communicating with colleagues from around the world, it is expected you have excellent communication skills, a natural ability to network and form strong ties with individuals who come from different backgrounds. It is essential that you are fluent in both written and verbal English. Advanced level in French and Arabic is an advantage.
